AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL QUARTERS PROGRAM

The nation will honor 56 national sites to be honored through the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program.  In 2010, the first year of the program, the agency will mint commemorative quarter-dollar coins honoring the Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Yosemite National Park in California, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.

Beginning in 2010, the designs on the reverse (tails side) of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters will rotate five times each year, with the final (56th ) coin in the series being released in 2021.  The coins' obverse (heads) will feature a restored version of the familiar 1932 portrait of George Washington, including subtle details and the beauty of the original model.
